Our first competition winner!!!!

Brett Ludeman.

Genre: folk

subject:  that moment that you feel like you're six years old again and you give a little squeal of excitement

character: mid-life Lucy

Carl had all the offerings at his disposal and kinda just waited to see which came up with a response and this one did...   lovely Lucy...

Mid-life Lucy sat in the light of her lunch-time decided to wait until night

Mid-life Lucy sat on her own with her coffee and phone, showing off her new ring tone

But no-one's worth answering now

And she's taken more time than her lunch-time allows

Mid-life Lucy longs for the time she remembers inside like a nursery rhyme

Mid-life Lucy can't hear the phone, just a distant echo of her sister's trombone

And she's writing the words that it sings

That she's held on too long as the one left of twins

And you can cry sis, cry sis, you're allowed to cry

Cry sis, you can cry now.

Cry sis, you can cry now.

And it feels like to late to revisit your fate

But it's true that the heart knows no time

Mid-life Lucy surrounded by boys, she's immune to the noise

As she questions the choice

Mid-life Lucy stuck in her silence, she squeals with delight

In her step back inside

And her life reads like an endless book

There's no turning back, the phone rings off the hook.

And you can cry sis, cry sis, you're allowed to cry

Cry sis, you can cry now.   X 2

Cry sis, you can cry now.
